SANTA PAULA, Calif. (KTLA) -- Police have arrested eight people in connection with the gang rapes of two girls allegedly lured from social networking sites.

Seven suspects were arrested without incident Friday in Santa Paula and Ventura, according to Santa Paula Police Department officials.

An eighth suspect was arrested Sunday.

The suspects, most of whom are gang members, are facing a variety of charges ranging from rape to kidnapping, according to police.

In a news release Monday, police identified the suspects as Esteban Oseguera, 18; Isaac Ek, 19; Joseph Sandoval, 18; Jonathan Gaona, 20; Dion Mendoza,19; Carlos Ek, 21; Adrian Garcia, 19, and a juvenile, all of Santa Paula.

The juvenile defendant has been charged with "rape while victim is asleep," among other offenses, according to a news release.

The suspects are accused in two separate assaults which occurred in March and April.

In each incident, some of the suspects met the victim on a social networking site and lured her to a home in Santa Paula where she was raped by several men, Santa Paula police Sgt. Ismael Cordero told the Ventura County Star.

Cordero says the victims were picked up and brought to the residence by one of the suspects and provided with alcoholic beverages and "who knows what else."

No further details have been released on the incidents.

The suspects are being held on bail ranging from $200,000 to $1 million.

Gang rape has become very common in Cambodia and a favorite pastime for rich and educated Khmers. It's part of College life in Cambodia.

To be fair, yes Mexicans are f'ed up people. If you broke up US by race, and look at crime rates, most areas with blacks and latinos are 3rd world countries. So i'm puzzled when we act like we're all the same Americans. If you go to any area that has a lot of blacks/latinos, and just go to college or companies down the street, it's like a different world because hardly latinos/blacks in school/companies. And to be fair, Khmer people are pretty similar, except Khmers are more quiet and mind their own business.

Gay guy is right. Stereotypes would cease to exist if ppl didn't live up to them. The problem within the Mexican, or Hispanic community is they have too many children. Each child lacks that individual attention, discipline, love, and nurturing because the parents are too busy with other children or too busy working providing for the family. Many Hispanics have a Catholic background, and from what I've heard, it is almost a sin not to have children once married, or even to have just 2. Living around them, having them as neighbors, I can comfortably say those who have 4 or more kids tend to neglect their kids, letting them do whatever they will. Just last night I saw a 5 year old boy outside on the street skateboarding at 10:30pm and no adults within sight!

So onto the subject... Hispanic men being suspects of gangrape is not unusual. This has happened before during a homecoming dance at Richmond High in N. Cali back in '09. A 15 year old girl was raped and beaten so badly for 2 hours, that she had to be lifted by an ER helicopter. The one person that called 911 wasn't even at the scene, but only heard through HER male cousin who saw it. Not one man...excuse me....boy, stood up for her! All of these guys, I believe it was about 6-7 of them, were all Hispanics. If you guys ever watch their TV programs, such as talk shows, soap operas, news, or seen how they dress their 3-6 year old daughters, you can easily see their culture is sex obsessed, much more than White Americans. Their beauty is their number one priority, hence why the top 10 contestants in Miss Universe pageants are dominated by Latin regions. Men demand sex, women submissively give into it, that's how the cycle starts!

i think it's more of an environmental factor, rather than genetics.

Gang-rapes doesn't always involve gangs. There are numerous accounts of white fraternity men raping college girls. The only difference in this case are parents of these frat boys can pay for good lawyers, while a majority of Hispanics cannot. A good example is a local college baseball team raped a 17 year old girl. All the parents of those baseball players are very very well off, so they got away scott-free while the girl remained a victim of those players and the justice system.

very true. when you mention about the frats, the first thing that came into mind is the duke's lacrosse team. the lacrosse team gang raped some girl. i honestly don't know what happened after the court proceedings, but i could imagine that those guys got leniency cuz they were a bunch of rich white kids. damn the bluedevils!

Thats just wrong. Raping a person is like taking someone's soul away.

it's no wonder women these days don't come off as "feminine" to so many guys anymore. Its not so much as them trying to prove their worth, but more like protecting themselves. We know the world we live in, and if we could step up to the next plate...some guys would think twice about messing with us. "forget the tazer, pass me the 9mm!" and ladies, continue on with your kickboxing classes, shoot targets, and keep those boots on! I feel like kicking some ass tonight!!! Lol

I agree with this approach. Especially foreigners who come into America and think just because people are friendly in Cambodia, Laos, Japan etc. they could act the same way in America. People in America would translate your availability, niceness and open personality as a weakness. Too many people get manipulated and taken advantage of because of this.

    Thank you, I'll take that!

(on a side note) did you guys know that women not only have make up parties, or candle parties direct selling at home, but there are tazer parties as well and they come in a Mary Kay pink shade!!! That's how seriously bad this world is getting. When I hear of a gun party, I'll let you ladies know and I will host!

i've never heard of anyone owning one of those. When I went to Cabelas and inquired about one--I got the, "eehhhhh I'm not sure about these" type answers. I'll stick with this rather:

    A little bit more trusty.

That's definitely true, at least in America. Being nice is considered a weakness. At least in my experience, I get abused and treated worst when I'm nice. And I understand sometimes why women are rude because being nice to men opens the door for men to abuse them.

It's f*cked up, but it's true. Again, just divide up america by race, and it's just obviously that Latino areas are messed up...not much different than much of south america. Somebody said that it's not race, but environment...I agree with that. However, again, just looking at race alone, it's messed up. It's no doubt that if it's environmental, it's linked to race.

Also, LaReine mention them being catholic. I could be wrong, but I hear that they have more kids in America than they do in S. America. The reason is that they know they will get welfare. In S.America, they know nobody is going to help them, so they have less kids. Also, it's ironic to say that catholics don't believe in birth control, yet they have sex as teens and out of wedlock. Not arguing with LaReine here, but pointing out different views that are out there.

You don't hear of Khmers, Koreans, Japanese, Lao, and for that matter Chinese gangraping anyone.

In Thailand most of the rapes are committed by English, Australian and German visitors.

My point is that it is the CULTURE. Not, the poverty.

Mexico as with most of South America has had a sorted violent and corrupt past which is still inherant in their DNA to this day.

and women are just sex objects...look at any of the old Mexican movies, there is always a token rape scene with 'El Comandante"
