Is there a way to get rid of all the recent activities on our personal page. I kind of liked it better when mine was plain and boring. Sometimes less is more.

Not that I'm currently aware of. It's set there by default.

To bad can't default it to show the About me or Visitor Messages. Since the Recent Activity tend to shown activity for the whole board and its confused for the Member's activity/messages until you realise it's just forum activity showing on your/ their profile page.

Now if you disable the "my activity" tab then "visitor messages" should become the new default if I'm not mistaken. Of course, the "my activity" does come in handy. VB should provide for an easier option in the admin panel to keep both and default to the "visitor messages" without having to hack the template.
