Khmerlife is a social site. We log on to discuss anything from the color of our under-garments to what's happening around the world. Since it's a social site, there's bound to be disagreement, trolls, and spammers. But it's not just a social site, it's a social site that has Cambodians and Cambodia as its main focus. Everyone of any race, color, sex, creed is welcomed. But the one thing I will no longer tolerate, and I speak on behalf of a majority of members on Khmerlife, are those that speak badly about the Cambodian people.

If you do not like Cambodia or Cambodians, please discontinue from signing on. We do not need any further bad stereotypes from you. Do not log on already having a bad mentality, if so, why even bother to log on. What is the point?

If you see any comments referring to Cambodia or Cambodian people in a bad way, please report it. I'll tally up how many reports there are and deal with those members accordingly, which will eventually lead them to be permanently banned from the site. Questions? Concerns?

i remember lots people on KL tagged team and talked smack about mexicans and how dirty they are - i didn't think it was cool. so there were offensive remakrs not just towards khmer, but to other races too. yea, it was sad and wrong.

As much as I would like to just ban people, I would like reasons for them to go other than me just not liking someone. Lets say it's like a peer review. If enough people feel that person is a nuisance due to his postings, then that's reason enough.

quantify enough for us. maybe members can submit a poll to ban other members with the reasonings and if possible examples of their unwanted behavior.. if it meets the "enough" requirement, then boot them off.

right on, i totally understand. you're right about democracy when it comes to banning people.

actually, i was referring to censoring some of the threads/posts where hate comments or anyting that promotes hate, regardless of whom it may be directed towards. hate is hate.

this has nothing to do with communism. you need to understand that every entity needs to have a rules and regulations. know that you are in KL's domain. in other words, this is not your house. when you go to work, would you make racist remarks in front of your boss? i think not. that would of course get yo ass fired.

I'm not sure if other members are a part of other forums, but KL is very lenient compared to others I've been on. For example, the car and motorcycle forums I've been on won't even allow a member to speak badly about another member's car/motorcycle. They'll be warned, then if that member continues, he will be temporary banned for a few days, then if it continues again, permanently banned. You can give an honest opinion without being a jerk. Pretty much just be polite when you disagree.

The only members I've banned so far are spam members and members that for some odd reason request to get banned. Go figure.

At the bottom of every post, there's a little triangle symbol with an exclamation point in the middle. That's the report button to report someone's post if it's offensive. As I am not able to read everything, clicking that button helps me go straight to the post.

I'm pretty lenient with anything since I really don't get offended, but other members might be different. Those that are skating on a fine line know who they are. If you don't, then I really don't know what to say. If there is a voting system, I believe 97% of KL members will probably pick the same person to be banned.

I was going to write a post on this yesterday but decided not. But whatever, here goes.

Guy like Tukseheuw, after time it becomes obvious that he is craving for attention and the only way for him doing so is creating provocative threads and posts, you guys give thus gave him the adrenaline. And the case with Gaykhmerguy, it is not hard to figure that he is Big Machine from KC, a notorious poster who likes to talk about pedophilia and whacky stuff; I give him credit being able to maintain his new impersonated character this long.

I think you are being overly diplomatic, you need not reported posts for sufficient reasons to ban them. It is plain obvious that these 2 trolls turned members off...just reflect on KL these few months to that of previous years.

Ahh come to think about it, banning them will do no good as they will come with new socks. There were potential debates on here I would to engage in especially with Lop lop but these 2 turned it into pissing and endlessness garbage. In short, cunts like these are society reject, and the only way they are getting any attention is online; I say kick them out.

Has Kl come up with TOS yet? I saw someone post their suggested netiquette for this forum but Ha Ha Ha. I think KL needs a board to review complaints then go from there. But a quick solution is to block certain users if you find them annoying. If gaykhmergay is obnoxious, then don't play his game by responding!!
