Visiting Quebec City, Canada.

I'm gonna be heading to the land of the north this coming holiday weekend. For those who have visited or living in the area, can I get some suggestions on places to see, things to do, and restaurants to try? And any recommendations on places to stay that's decent and affordable? Nothing fancy, just a place to lay our heads as we like to be out and about.

We're also looking to do some hiking to get in the beautiful scenery. I was thinking about Parc national des Hautes-Gorges-de-la-Rivière-Malbaie. It's a bit more drive northward so I was kinda hesitant. Any places around the Montreal/Quecbec City area that has superb views at the top after some nice hiking? Any and all recommendations are greatly appreciated

Quebec City (downtown/old Quebec) is a beautiful place to visit! As for places to eat, a lot of the downtown-area restaurants are tourist traps, I recommend doing cheap eats and taking in the scenery. Depending on how long you're here for, if you like hiking/nature you should take a drive up to Mont Tremblant and stay at a B&B. Also if you're in the area visit Montreal, the night life is great, the food is amazing and the people are good looking! (Although keep in mind that MTL has been bombarded with student protesting for the past couple of months so it might be more hectic then normal)

thanks for the tips and recommendations! We'll only be spending 2 days up there so it doesn't give us a whole lot of time. I'd love to visit Montreal, too but it might have to be the next time I go up. If it was up to me we'd spend 4.5 days up there because i have a 4 day weekend but one person has to be back for work on tuesday

So, does Mount Tremblant have spectacular views? 3 of use like to hike but one person is not much of a hiker. I'm trying to plan things accordingly to accommodate everyone :/

If you're only here for 2 days then I'd suggest not going to Mont Tremblant, that's something you'd want to experience on it's own. Plus it's kinda far from Q.C if you're only there for 2 days.

If you ever visit Montreal make sure to spend a Sunday afternoon at Mont Royal (also known as just "the mountain") amazing view, atmosphere, and people doing interesting things! Also, be sure to visit the Jean Talon market, best calamari ever!

    Have fun on your trip!

I'm sure you're going to enjoy your trip but I think the best time of the year to go is during the Winter months.
