Back to the media being bias against Asian men. The Hunger Game is a prime example. The movie is about one dominant society trying to control 11 districts it conquered by war. Annually, the dominant society randomly choose two contestants (1 male and 1 female) from the 11 colonial districts every year to participate in the Hunger Game. The object of the Hunger Game is to kill the other contestants. And, the last survivor is the winner. The president of the dominant society was asked why the Hunger Game? The host continued: why not just kill those who try to rebel? The president said 'hope', hope is the greatest form of control. The Hunger Game give 'hope' to surive.

Back to scene where the asian being murdered by the black guy with a large stone to the head....throughout the movie, my mind keep going back to the scene. Human mind is wired to remember violents and fear. The movie just reinforced the notion that Asian as weak.

I'll stick to the original no matter how hard or how many times Suzanne Collins tries to deny it.

Haven't watched it yet but it does sound like more of the same mental conditioning in Hollywood to hate Asian men. I like how they used a black man to do the job of killing the Asian guy. This way, the white guy looks innocent while the black guy looks like the bad one.

Nothing bad can be done to Asians otherwise we will cry about it, right? :/

Anyway, I haven't watched or read The Hunger Game yet but from what I hear about it, it definitely is a rip-off of Battle Royale. I'm surprised the author didn't give BR it's acknowledgement/royalty yet. (Asians, now that's something worthy to be pissed off about lol)

Ivan. Your missing the point. No one is saying to stop showing biased or negative images of Asian men in the media. Instead they're looking for balance. When 98% of characters of Asians are being depicted on TV are negative, it starts to make you think twice of what kind of society we're living in.

Asians are only depicted as bad in mafia/karate type movies. But there's lots of movies where Asians are valued characters like that kid from The Goonies, Asian kid from Walking Dead, Lucy Lui, Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Kristen Kreuk, etc.

Let's face it though, we're still a minority in this country, so not many major roles will be given to Asian-Americans because many wouldn't be able to relate to Asians unless they are one themselves. You may feel that's inequality, but from a Hollywood point of view, it's just not profitable.

And Asians have it better than black people because at least we don't die first in every movie lol

In Cradle to the Grave, or something like that starring Jet Li, he beat up numerous black fools.

Jet Li, Jackie Chan are Asian men who are seen as "non threatening" to the American audience. For one thing they're short, not very masculine and they aren't going to make girls scream "oh my god fuck me". That's why it's easier for them to make it in American media. But try to put a HOT, SEXY Asian guy on TV like brad pitt or George Clooney, who speaks perfect English, they'd have a really hard time doing it.

Asian women are accepted in American mainstream as long as they play roles where they're paired up with white men or playing that submissive geisha, china doll role. They rarely have any substance to them other than being sex objects.

In essence, Hollywood is teaching Asian women, in order for you to be cool and accepted in society, you have to be sex slaves to the Euro Man and that being with Asian men isn't progressive and isn't considered equal.

It's the same type of subliminal messages that's being promoted that tell girls in order to be pretty, you have to have blond hair blue eyes, skinny and dress a certain way.

It’s a fact that in every Anglo-Saxon society around the world, be it the U.S., Canada, the U.K., New Zealand, or Australia, Asian men are systematically placed at the bottom of the sexual totem pole.

At the same time, black men are placed at the top of the ladder right below white men, in a desperate attempt to alleviate white guilt and appear “open-minded and tolerant.”

    So have we progressed?

The answer is no if you compare it to the utter adolation and sacred cow status reserved for African-Americans in television and Hollywood vs. the scraps from the table thrown to guys like John Cho and Will Yun Lee.

The problem goes far deeper than media casting. I believe an inherent bias instilled within Anglo-Saxon males to disrespect, malign, and assault the manhood of Asian men.

I wouldnt be surprised if this movie is based on UN and US documents that are based on things to come. Its based on Agenda 21, which is basically America collapses (happening right now in real time), 12 regions (look up 12 regions of Fema camps, that hold 50 000 when economy collapses people who revolt will be thrown in there), the Drones (goverment is already wanting to put drones in the sky for 'traffic). We already live in this high tech feudal system, just not as pronounced as this.
