unisom?

my friend forced me to go buy it yesterday since i told her i've been sleeping 2-3 hours everyday for the past month and a half. it first started out at falling asleep at 3am, then 4 am, then 5 am...and now i can't fall asleep for the life of me until about 8 which leaves me about an hour to sleep since i like to get up early.

unisom is a sleep aid and supposedly it says it's non-habit forming. last night i took it at 10 pm and knocked out cold until 5 am. i woke up feeling amazing. i haven't had sleep like that in so long...can't even recall.

but man...it's really frustrating sometimes, you're so sleepy and tired but you just can't fall asleep. it's like there's a block or something that's preventing you from sleeping. my mind can not shut off at all, and if you try to think of not thinking, you're still thinking and everything just goes off on a tangent from there.

hopefully this unisom thing can help me get my body in the habit of falling asleep at regular times. this 1-3 hours a day thing for the past month and a half is really taking a toll on my body and emotions! sleep is important. that's when your mind and body repairs itself. :/

Leah and I take those. She has the same problem. I just wanted to try it. First sleeping pills that didn't make feel tired after waking up.

i was strugglling with the same problem when i was a freshamn. i have to force myself to sleep early 10 minutes early each day. i really ran out of patience back. I was frustrated everyday due to the lack of sleep. I think diet plays a big role.

nature's made is really good. It doesnt leave you feeling groggy but it takes a while for the effects to kick in my suggestion work out. Hit the gym and stay away from sleeping pills you dont want to have an attachment towards them

Leah said you have to actually try to sleep. That's when it'll work. Not keep yourself busy with Nature Made.

I periodically suffer from this. When I do, it's a month long or more stretch and you're right, it takes a toll on you physically and especially emotionally. Some people have mentioned working out on here. Working out definitely helps IF you work out way before bed time. If you work out at night time, you've got all that adrenaline still and it's going to be hard to fall asleep- so I've heard. What's worked for me the past few weeks is a healthier diet, exercise morning to midday, and set a time where all the lights and electronics are unplugged. The only thing I keep on is a fan or something that buzzes because that sound helps soothe me. Sleeping pills work but if you have a bad habit of not sleeping like I do, you will only acquire a tolerance to it and it'll eventually stop working -__- I don't know if this helped at all haha but good luck Vita

Moderately heavy Cardio in the morning for about 20 mins should help you sleep at night. The only catch is you must embrace the drowsiness immediately and hit the sack. Or you can call a friend and have them talk you to sleep.

If you want to really fall asleep the best way is actually exercise and get your body to waste all of your energy. Food and diet play a role too..There actually food that will actually make you sleepy..Also take up some yoga classes it train your brain to calm down with the thoughts that racing through your head .Stay away from any type of sleeping pills you will get addicted to it! You will even form a habit by telling yourself you need it to knocked out..It will fucked you up mentally like any other type of drugs..

I have a best friend that takes Tylenol PM’s religiously. I gave her sh*t about it so she went and saw a doctor and he insisted she take those rather than sleeping pills (Unisom, etc) because they are less “habit-forming” and carry less side effects.
