Video: Social Repercussions of Asian Stereotypes in Media

0 Not allowed! Not allowed!

In dept, never talked about before in history, until now, Asian American activist who are fed up with Hollywood's negative portrayals of Asian American men and women through mass media, pop culture and entertainment, finally sit down and discuss what many Asian Americans have been thinking for years, but always kept quiet about.

Due to Asian cultures inherit Confucian philosophy and Buddhist nature, which values harmony and maintaining "Face" (not humiliating self, family, or your race) above even facing the truth, which has left many Asian American's in denial and continually kicking this issue, further down the road.

Being though, as it may, these intellectual Asian men and women offer anecdotal evidence, empirical data and many years studying Hollywood's mind manipulation tactics. Terms such as "social programming" and "social engineering" are used to describe what American mass media have been using for decades to control Asian American's social life, for ie. who they hang out with, what is considered socially acceptable, what is popular and even down to who they choose as sexual choices and dating partners.

This social engineering through mass media manipulation has been so effective and powerful, some say, has played a huge role of why interracial statistics are so high in both Asian American men and women.

From this short 7 minute discussion, we can learn how Asians are taught to hate men of their own races, hate their fathers and men of their own family and through cultural hegemony and patriotism, force many to despise their own culture in replace with one of not their own.
