Why is it the duty of the male to be the head of the household? If a person is able to afford to pay for the bills/rent/etc, shouldn't they be the head of their own household regardless of gender? O_o I can go on and on about this blog. Sounds pretty sexist.

I agree! Now a day, husband & wife are equal. Marriage is a partnership. Men or women can be the head of their household. I believe there are some women out there who can be just as strong as men too.

I'm not saying it's not equal, men should treat their spouse as equal to them since they are together and working things together as a couple should be. All I am stating is, the man should be a leader in his family, to keep his wife and his kids strong.

Yes the mother can be a leader and a immature father can also be a leader. The point is, be strong and responsible when holding your family together. Woman tend to always be lead by men, and when there there is two separate leaders, there will always be division, how can there be peace in the household when there are always disagreements? How can anything stand when two are not working together but against each other? Who then is the stronger one, the woman or the husband?

Yes, leading all the time isn't always fun. We can take turns. But I do want a husband I can look up to. I get your point, though some can take it in another direction. I want my man to be the pillars of my household. I want to feel secure and proudly say that my man takes care of anything and everything. I can hold things down just fine as a woman, but would love to have that "strong man" around to lighten the burdens a little.

Lets forget about the 21st century & how times have changed. Even though times changed, our bodies didn't, and we can't ignore what our roles are as a man & woman. I don't give a shit if it's sexist, it is what it is.

I believe men are anatomically designed to lead, protect, provide and head of the household. It's not sexist, it's GENETICS. Women don't like being second-place, but lets not deny mother nature's roles it gave us. Men are made stronger with a bazillion sperm to unleash & impregnate. Women are designed to accept ONE sperm lol, carry that baby & nurse it. While the male is out providing, the female is at home taking care of the household. This is how it's always been with every male & female species...even animals! Ladies, you're SUPPOSED to know how to cook & clean, and be gentle & all that other women traits. You're always expecting dudes to "be a man" about shit, but can we say YOU "be a woman" about shit? What exactly is "being a man?" Taking responsibility & be tough, right? You expect this of us because it's our role to be tough, but when we expect you to be housewifey & have those ideal women traits, you give us all kinds of problems lol.

Men are made to work & women are made to be in the kitchen, end of story. "These days" roles have changed and everyone's all confused and shit. It's nice sharing responsibilities with each other, but at the end of the day you can't ignore the truth. Men lead, women follow.

Dawn Le, You are right. That's what I meant. The issue wasn't about equality or which gender is more superior. It is about the role of a husband, the leader in the family. The one who holds his family together. Emotionally, mentally, spiritually and so forth. The wife is usually the helper, brings the best out of man. People have a big misconception with what I am trying to say. There are strong mothers out there who can do things all by themselves due to the lack of some guys who aren't there to fully lead them. But I am certain they would want a man that can.

A strong man will lead his family and never leave his woman side, women will also strengthen/help her man as he provides, leads, and holds her together. She is not above her man, neither is he above her. But he is should be the head as a Father and lover who is the one that provides her needs and the needs of the family. Have you notice that most problems happen due to the lack of what men can't provide? Have you also notice when women try to lead her man? Disagreements, she is to strengthen her man, know his weaknesses and thrive with each other struggles. It's all a part of pulling the work together!
