The Priest class is considered to be one of the best healing classes in the World of Warcraft. Priests however, can also deal nice amounts of damage as well. When you decide to play with the priest class you can choose between several races. If you role horde the choice of races when it comes to the Priest class will fall on Trolls, Undead and Blood Elves. On the Alliance side you can pick either a Dwarf, Human, Draenei or Night Elf priest. Depending on the race you choose you will have different passive abilities but the choice will surely depend on you and your game play.
A Priest is a genuine mana consumer whether he chooses to play a healer or a dps caster and therefore he will need a lot of spirit which will help him regenerate mana much faster, intellect which will give him a greater amount of mana and of course, a lot of spell power. The Holy talent tree is used for players that want to heal in PvE scenarios. When you choose to be a Holy Priest you can almost forget about dealing damage but you will however become an awesome healer for single and multiple targets with several spells like Circle of Healing. Guardian Spirit, Prayer of Healing, Flash and Greater heals, Renew and more. Shadow Priests are famous for their Shadow form which not only looks interesting it also gives a Shadow Priest more spell power.
Most of their spells are instant and they are famous for their DoT (Damage Over Time) spell Shadow Word Pain.Because they also have spells that restore mana and health for party and raid member they are a good asset to every raid. Priests who are more into the PvP game play will definitely choose the Discipline tree. Because the discipline tree makes the priest a tough cookie with damage absorbing talents and nice new spells, it’s a nice choice.
Priests are also famous for their buffs: Power Word Fortitude, Spirit buff and Shadow Protection buff. Next to this they also have many other useful spells like fear, resurrect, shackle, dispel, cure disease and more. What is nice when it comes to resetting agro is the ability to fade but in general a Priest shouldn’t get much agro since he is always in the back whether he is a healer or a damage dealer In case you get a bit high on the threat meter you can always fade which heavily reduces your threat for an amount of time.
