At my company, everybody uses it. I think it's so vital to know how to use the computer. You can probably get any job if you have the skills, and they'll train you. Companies need to train you to use the software they use in their company. If you got skills, you can do many things. They don't want somebody who doesn't under things like "log off, reboot, IT, how to print, open explorer, etc".

Yes, I use a computer at work. It's not to do anything technical like software, troubleshooting or IT related things, mainly, to type reports and research. Thank goodness for them, else, we have to write anywhere from 3 page reports to about 20 page reports a night.

For the most part, I use Windows Mobile Symbol but other than that, Windows Server 2003 and such. Everything is Windows based for the universal aspect, unless I'm on break, I use the iPad.

Yes, we use computers to view/order labs, lab reports, and X-ray. We also have a seperate computer to just browse medical things or look up stuff for leisure.

I hate to give away too many clues. But my computer is in my car, so technically I don't have a desk job. I bet you're wondering what the hell kind of job has a computer/laptop inside a car? There's probably only a handful, if that. :P

I rather not say anything than to lie. Sorry, I don't need to lie online to get attention. ;)

Unfortunately for me, being a moderator is a free gig...unless those other moderators are getting paid. Hmmm...I believe I've been jipped out of a paycheck. :'(

Hard to believe, but I do have a full time job that brings home the bacon. :)

fyi, not everyone who uses a computer for work has a desk job.

you could be a researcher, doing work in the fields and come home to write up a lab report.

I could've sworn I thought the title of the thread read...."Do you use condoms at work", then my answer would've been...does latex gloves count.

but yes and no to this thread. I use the computer only to check my appointments and clock in, but for internet purposes...no.

Although I may have the title "Super," I am but a man whom cannot read everything all the time. ;)
I normally wait til someone reports it, which is sent to my email. Pretty annoying actually. But it comes with this voluntary job. :)
I use my iPhone 90% of the time, rarely my computer.

wait...don't tell me you're one of those users who let the laptop rest on your crotch long enough to fry it. Again, just do what smart people like myself do..don't rest it directly on yourself! :) You can purchase a cooling fan or a lapdesk(I have both), both are inexpensive; but if you don't wanna spend any money, get creative and use stuff from around the house. I hope you have a textbook(thick but not thick enough to crush you) or a dictionary handy to rest it on. Just tryin to be helpful. Wouldn't want you to damage your reproductive system or legs. Hope this help! ;)

I own my own business and the computer is the most vital component for the company. Without the computer I'd have no business, so it's important that I know all about it. Of course, the people I hire to work for me, either as employee or sub-contractor, will have to be technical savvy as well. This is an IT company we're talking about.

There's a nurse at a clinic who tells me she knows nothing about a computer. She barely knows how to turn it on.

So comparing normal, everyday, natural, possibly uncontrollable human functions and whether I should act on my own to moderate certain things is in relevance to...? Nice comparison you did there. I'll give you 2.6 points for effort. :P

The obvious reason, which I sort of mentioned a few times before, is ppl do have real jobs and can't read through the entire forum. They did make a "report" feature for a reason.

Let it go, Lizzy, let it go. :)
