I can ask my mom for the recipe but I prefer to hear anyone's opinion or their version of their recipe. I don't know if this is an authentic Cambodian dish but I want to know what ingredients go in it and the nutritional facts about the whole finishing product. My mom makes it with boiled eggs and pork belly fat (i think)...and the soup base is dark. So please feel free to leave your comments and the recipe on this forum and if you can include nutritional facts, that would be great as well.

Sugar, salt, black peppers, clove of garlic crushed of course and water.
Put those four ingredaints first. stir the pot so the sugar turns brown. then add the water to the pot. I do not remember mom putting any vegatables in it. Also add meat or eggs to it when you have added water to the pot. make sure the caramlized sugar is no longer carmalized. after an hour it should be done and ready to eat. I am sorry if I forgot to include anything else in making kaw.

1oz of pork belly = 7 slices of bacon, if your looking for something macros friendly, your better of avoiding the dish. 1 ounce of Pork belly is about the size of a matchbox

This is originally a Chinese dish. But I cook it with palm sugar, Chinese five spice, pork belly and pork ears, boiled eggs, dark soy sauce, regular soy sauce, msg, a few slices of ginger, and fish sauce, garlic, and black pepper.

Instead of pork belly you can use fish as well. Just gotta be careful with the bones, but there is a technique/and or ingredient that they use to make the bones more tender.
