What's legal and not legal? 
I'm not sure when it comes to remixing another musician's work.  Is it legal? Do I need permission?

Its just like when kanye samples a record, he still needs to clear the sample.

I think you can do whatever you want to other people's work, as long as you don't gain a profit, then it's all cool. Not quite sure though.

that's what i initially thought. you can find many joe blow version of their raps to popular songs.
